WHAT CAN BE DONE TO SUPPORT
THE UMCOR WORK IN HAITI
Congregations can support the “Hearts for Haiti” program. Michigan United Methodist churches are asked to remember our partnership ministry in Haiti on the first Sunday of every month. During this time it is requested that prayers be offered for the country and the ministries of the Methodist Church in Haiti. Also, a special offering is taken to support the School Hot Lunch program. UMCOR Advance #418790
Financial gifts for the Haiti Hot Lunch Program can be put in the offering plate on Sunday and the local church treasurer will forward it to conference treasurer to be sent to UMCOR. Your generous gift goes 100% to support the program. Please write the advance number, UMCOR Advance #418790, on the envelope.
Financial support for conference programs to help in Haiti can be designated and forwarded to the conference treasurer’s office. These funds will be used by Michigan VIM teams providing project money, including materials and supplies, and scholarship assistance for team members, health care programs in schools and clinics and support for the Michigan Area Haiti Task Force. Detroit Conference - Ministry Jubilee #1164 and West Michigan Conference - Michigan Area Haiti Task Force #7106-452
Collecting needed items for shipment to Haiti. Items needed include: school kits, health kits, sewing kits, and midwifery kits.
